True Love Layout

Sorry the picture is kind of blurry. As you can tell Peyton is only a few weeks old in the picture. And I unfortunately don't have my color back completely. But I can't help but love this picture for how cute Peyton is sleeping with her mouth wide open all snuggled up on me and even for me because you can see how in love with her I completely am. The other picture on the layout has two other awesome things on it. It shows my husband also feeling the same way about our daughter, and it shows my dog Izzy trying so to figure out what the heck is going on! Both her and Dexter - our mini schnauzer - were so not happy with her coming home! But in time they have learned to love her too.

This was the second layout I made after my Dear Lizzy purchases. Although not very much stuff is from her line, her products and her style were still a huge inspiration for the layout.

Here is a list of supplies used:
  • BasicGrey - Blue background cardstock, orange and blue plaid ribbon
  • American Crafts - Chipboard flowers, gem brad, butterfly button Flair, green cardstock {Dear Lizzy}, My Favorite, small rose and frame stamp {Dear Lizzy}, cardstock Thickers
  • Stampin up - Chocolate Chip ink, Butterflies die {large butterfly only}, medallion stamp, Rose Red ink, pinking hearts border punch, felt flower and leaves
  • Martha Stewart - Butterfly punch, lace trim border punch
  • Fiskars - paper crimper
  • Imaginisce - All other pattern paper
  • Prima - gemstone flourish
  • Making Memories - Line patterned paper, heart pin

As you have probably guessed from all of the layouts I have been posting, American Crafts is probably my most favorite brand right now. I love a lot of others, but that is the brand I keep going back to lately. The other is and will always be Stampin' Up. I am not a consultant for them anymore {maybe in the near future} but I still can't get enough of all of their stuff! And now that their stamps have the option of using clear blocks, I heart them even more!

The large layered pink flower is super easy to make. Just cut strips 1" x 8" and then 1"x 5" {In this flower I also did a shorter one on top so it is 3 layers}. punch one whole side of each strip with the border punch of your choice {this is where I used the Martha Stewart Lace Trim border punch}. The next step is to run each strip through the paper crimper. This helps mold the paper into the flower shape. Layer and mold paper into the flower shape along the adhesive of your choice. An awesome option is to use double sided sheets and then diecut it into about a 2" circle. I didn't have any of these sheets available, so I used a few pop dot glue dots. Tricky to get it to stay right, but it can be done. Layer the shorter strips once punched and crimped on top. You can choose the center of your choice. The other thing is, since there will be an odd spot where the ends of each layer meet. I hid it by adding the felt leaves. But again, you can choose to do it how you want.

Warning! These are extremely addicting to make! I should get some other projects that I did using them posted soon.

Here are so more pictures of the layout:

Happy Scrapping Everyone!
