Birdies, Birdies On Two Different Cards

As you have heard me mention before, I am loving mini cards right now. I was surfing the Internet tonight trying to come up with some sort of inspiration and I turned to my Google Blog Reader and came across a post on on of the man many many blogs I follow: Carefree Creations from Karen Haman. I was suffering baldy this evening with the blahs and couldn't come up with what I wanted to do. But on the blog I found a post dated June 9, 2009 and I suddenly had that light bulb moment. As you can tell from all of my creations, I am a clutter bug. I like stuff and I like a lot of it. It is definitely reflective on my scrapbook pages, cards and other projects. But every once in a while I am capable of just doing something simple. I know, I know! It's just so weird! :D But I took inspiration from her post and was so glad I found it. The card below is the result.

Here are the supplies used on the card above:

  • Stampin' Up! - Very Vanilla cardstock, Always wood mounted stamp set, Well Scripted clear mounted stamp set, Chocolate Chip classic ink, Purely Pomegranate classic ink, Scallop border punch
  • BasicGrey - button
  • My Stash - white and brown twisted bakers twine {purchased off the Etsy store End Of Day Crafting. Click here to visit it}

So as I mentioned, this is a fairly simple card. It was what I needed to get me out of my little crafting funk!

On to the next card. And they just keep getting smaller and smaller....

The first card listed in the post was the second card. A few things to note about it:

1) I used the left over piece of Very Vanilla cardstock I had after cutting out the last card, 4"x8. The left over piece was 4"x3". Tiny! I think this would be a cute card to put on the top of a pretty wrapped package or attached to a gift bag. I am sure there are other possibilities for this little bitty.

2) I am so addicted to Dear Lizzy's fabric paper! And I am so addicted to making these wrapped flowers! I {LOVE} them!

3) I was equally excited to use my Dear Lizzy Warble stamp set tonight. I haven't really used any of it it. Last week I played around with it a bit, but nothing turned out from my efforts. I love the dresses, birds, flowers, scallops, Easter egg and especially the banner stamp!

4) On this card, I used a Copic marker for the first time :D. I have just one. It's called Sugar Almond Pink. Is that not the cutest name for pink, or what! I would love to get more in the future, but don't plan on it any time soon. They are super cool though. I do hope to get some more in this same family so I can practice with shading.

So here are the supplies I used:

  • Stampin' Up! - Very Vanilla cardstock, Whisper White cardstock {used behind the fabric twisted flower}, Chocolate Chip classic ink, Bajah Blue classic ink, Kiwi Kiss classic ink
  • American Crafts - Dear Lizzy fabric paper, Dear Lizzy Frolic stickers, The Goods cardstock {used on the cloud sentiment}
  • Bazil Basics - brad
  • Heidi Swapp - mini green gem stickers
  • My Stash - green polka-dot ribbon
  • Copic - Sugared Almond Pink

Here is a closeup.

So I am watching Vampire Diaries right now as I am blogging. It's the episode from two weeks ago. I love that Steffan is having issues and sort of becoming a bad boy like his big bro, Damon. The show is so one of my guilty pleasures. Nothing like teen angst in the form of mythical vampire, hormonal guys!!! Woot! Woot!
