I Love Birdies!

Hi everyone! Look, 3 posts in 2 days! It's got to be a record for me :). A great way to start off the new year!

I have all my Christmas stuff put away, and am totally feeling spring! Forget the fact that the low for the last couple of days has been 5 degrees! I am more than ready for spring to get here and winter to be gone!

And because I am feeling all about spring, it's showing in my cards! As I have mentioned before, I love birdies! I love bird cages and bird houses! I can't help myself :). One of my favorite new sets from Stampin' Up! this year is a set called Aviary. It's bird cages and birdies - one of the birdies is even a cute owl! So I have been pairing up my various birdie stamps along with some fun paper and am totally loving the results.

Here is card number 1:

This bird and bird cage are from Studio G. I can't say enough good things about this brand! I love how economical their products are without sacrificing quality!
Here is card number 2:
Isn't this owl just the cutest! This owl and cage are from the Aviary set from Stampin' Up!

Who ever thought so much brown would scream spring! :) Recognize the card in the background in the top right. It was one I made a few weeks back. That birdie and cage are Studio G.

Here are the supplies I used for the Splendid card:

Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper - Stampin' Up!
Stamps - flowers {stamped on the blue circle} Stqampin' Up!; Splendid sentiment Dear Lizzy for American Crafts

Bling - Rhinestone, Pearl Stampin' Up!
Punches - Dotted Ribbon border, Large Scallop Circle, Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" circle, Itty Bitty Flower Stampin' Up!
Ribbon - Pumpkin grosgrain Stampin' Up!; Baker's Twine my stash

Here are the supplies for the "Birdie" card:

Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper Stampin' Up!
Stamps - Aviary Stampin' Up!; "birdie" sentiment Studio G
Punches - Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" circle, Scallop Trim border Stampin' Up!
Ribbon - Artichoke grosgrain Stampin' Up!; Baker's Twine my stash

On both cards I cut out the birds and cages by hand once they were stamped onto the cardstock. Also, notice that I cut both words out by hand just around the letters. Not sure where that urge came from :). I laugh at my self with some of the things I am drawn to do!

So even though spring is a way away, it seems to be right around the corner here! Ok, not really, but I can dream, can't I!

Stay crafty! Hope your new year is going well thus far.
