Loving My Free Stuff :D - Reverie Creations DT Projects

I just want to say very quickly that I am extremely grateful for the fathers in my life. First for my husband! You are my rock, and my best friend. You do so much for our family that I can't even begin to say thank you. You make me laugh everyday and you take wonderful care of our daughter! Even when you give her bright blue snow cones : D. I love you! Then for my dad. Thank you Dad for setting the bar high of what a father should be. Thank you for teaching me to be a good person and showing me life shouldn't always be taken so seriously. I love you! And for all the other dads out there, you guys rock. Happy Father' Day!

I got to work quickly after my boxes of goodies came in! I have 4 pages of my lyrics album finished! I can't decide if I should start posting pages now or wait until the whole thing is finished. For now I will wait, but I sure as well may change my mind later : D.

In the mean time, I did use almost all of the Reverie Creations package that I received! I made a 9x9 scrapbook page and 3 little mini cards - 3x3. I was inspired by the gold foil inside the roses paper. I love how shiny it is! So I used my Coffee House Tattered Angels spray on the brown cardstock to make it shiny as well. It gave it a sort of copper color. So cool! The one bad thing is that the spray makes the paper curl and warp. So I should have let it dry under something heavy to keep the paper flat. I will remember that for next time. I knew I wanted to rubon's to look like they were sort of coming out of the pictures and then off the bottom of the page.

So here are the pics:

I got the title for my layout from one of my most favorite children's books by the same title. It's such a great story about love and motherhood.

In that top picture, Peyton still makes that face sometimes when she is sleeping. It's pretty cute.

Here are the supplies used:
  • Cardstock - American Crafts
  • Patterned Paper - American Crafts, Scenic Route {lined paper}
  • Rubons - American Crafts
  • Punches - Lace border Martha Stewart, Real Estate Sign EK Success
  • Ribbon - American Crafts
  • Chipboard Letters - Green Glitter Dear Lizzy for American Crafts, Brown Flocked Lush for My Minds Eye
  • Glimmer Mists - Coffee House Tattered Angels
  • Ink - Soft Suede Stampin' Up! classic

These pictures where taken in the hospital the morning after Peyton was born. We tool pictures too after the hospital photographer did since she was all dressed up for the first time. She was so newborn swollen and red, but so, so, so cute!

In the pictures of the cards, you can see the gold in the patterned paper better. I think these would be fun on the outside of a wedding present.

Here are the pics:

There's Nothing Like Free Stuff In The Mail!

This week I received two packages of free goodies! The first one was from Scrapbook Trends Magazine. It was because of winning a contest from them about a month ago. If you remember it was a birdhouse I had made for my mom for Mother's day. I was so excited to open my box of goodies. I had no idea what was being sent to me, I just knew it was going to be "...a fabulous prize package from one of our sponsors..." . So I waited and waited and I was extremely pleased when I opened the box and found some of the Lush line from My Minds Eye.

Here are the pics below of what I received:

I was so excited when I opened the box and it was full of My Minds Eye Lush line! I started my first page in the blue mini album. I decided I was making it  full of my favorite song lyrics. I am a sucker for good music and if the lyrics are really good, then I can't not love the song. So I get lyrics stuck in my head and then I want to try to remember them and so I decided an album was the perfect way to do it. I have 3 pages almost completed so far. It's hard to choose the songs, but it's fun just doing it. I figured it was a good project about me. I have been scrapbooking some more pics of Pey too so I will get those pages posted soon!

On to the next box of free goodness :D. As I mentioned I made my first design team for Reverie Creations. Later this week I got my paper kit, rub-ons and adhesive. So I am going to use them to make a scrapbook page and card!!! So I can't wait to show you guys the results. The paper I got is totally my style so I was excited when I got it.

Here is what I got:

I love how shiny the rose paper is!

I started using this adhesive yesterday and am liking it a lot. It's cheaper than the tape runner I usually use so I am switch to it! I am trying to decide though if I want to get one of the great big Scotch tape runners though because I go through adhesive so freaking fast! So we will see.

This is the backside of both pieces of pattern paper. I love these color of yellow.

I am off to do a little crafting before I head out to my brother in laws football game to work the gate! Hopefully I can get some fun stuff done today. Have a good weekend everyone!

The Good, The Bad, And The Did She Really Make That Card! :D

Hi Everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I have posted. But I am  back! And I have a fun project to show you.

But first I wanted to take a minute to share some news. I have been selected to be on the Reverie Creations Design Team! Woot! I am so excited. It is a great little community that is just starting. It consists of a small online store, a message forum and some other fun things. I can't wait to get my first set of goodies and get scrapping : D! Right now with your first order you get a paper pack or adhesive for free! What a cool deal, hu! Just mention your choice in the comments section of your order. So head on over and join the community. It's a lot of fun!

Just very quickly, on a personal note.... Thank you to all of you that have reached out to say the kind things you have and to be good friends and family at this time. My family and I really appreciate all of you. Life is hard sometimes, but I am surrounded by good people and it makes the hard times not as hard as the could be. So thank you.

And now to the moment you have all been waiting for! In preparation for the movie coming out in just 16 days, I made the funniest cards ever! I would like to introduce you to the official Sparkle Edward card :D. Ok, they look kind of serious, but it came to me late last night and I was laughing so hard at myself when I came up with it and I knew I had to make them for my friends at work that like Twilight. I tried so hard to get a good picture of Edward on the card, because he really sparkles!!!!! Yep, he sparkles just like in real life.

Here are the pics:

I know, I know! I am totally a dork! But I so can't help myself sometimes : D.

Here are all the cards for my peeps at work!

As I have said many times before, I love the books and am Team Edward for sure! So for anyone who doesn't like the series, I know it's not for everyone. And for those of you that are Team Jacob, no I did not make you a card : D.

The stamp set with Edwards face is actually part of a set that I purchased at Barnes & Noble of all locations. I got it when New Moon was still in the theatres. I tried to find it on their site so I could link you guys to it here, but I couldn't find the set anywhere on the BN.com site. On the back of the container for the stamps I found a web address: http://www.necaonline.com/. So I went to it and found the New Moon section. I clicked on it and it took me to a Amazon store where I still couldn't find it. :-( I took pictures and posted them just below in case anyone wanted to track the set down still and maybe if you contact someone at the necaonline site, you could find the it that way.

The set consists of this beautiful Edward, one of Bella and Jake, and then a Team Edward, Team Jacob, Twilight, Cullens banner, and the Cullen Crest. Plus it also came with a black ink pad and they all came in a metal tin. So I have had the set for a while, but this is the first time I have used it. I doubt I will ever use the Team Jacob or Jacob's face stamps! But now if there was a Team Taylor Lautner stamp, I would definitely use it! : D.

Here is the nitty gritty:

  • Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White Stampin' Up!

  • Patterned Paper - Bo Bunny {Black and Grey, Grey and Cream, Yellow and Black and Red, Red and Black for roses} and Presto Patterns Specialty DSP Stampin' Up! {red and white paper strips - This paper is solid white with embossed images on all of the paper pack. I took a makeup sponge and rubbed the red ink all over the paper. The embossed images stay white. It's really fun to use and it's got a way cool texture to it.}

  • Stamp Sets - Twilight {included the black ink pad} from Barnes & Noble manufactured by NECA, Sparkle sentiment is from the Warm Words set from Stampin' Up!

  • Brad - Red Rhinestone Fire Circle Stampin' Up!

  • Ribbon - Black Velvet Making Memories, Grey Satin Stampin' Up!, or Black Grosgrain Stampin' Up!

  • Smooch Spritz - Vanilla Shimmer Stampin' Up!
I know the roses cover up most of Edwards hair but the stamp cracks me up, because even it has huge hair!

Here is the next thing to show you.... Amber finished her card from our Stampin' Up! Use All The Products That We Buy Swap, so I thought I would show you now. I am waiting to get Marci's. So when she does, I will also post it. Amber purchased the Itty Bitty Bits set, Bitty Buttons, and Punch Pack. They are so cute and definitely so Itty Bitty! The funny thing that we were all laughing about was she used all three things on the very center of her flower on the card, and that is the only place they all are : D. It still turned out super cute though, doncha think! The patterned paper is My Minds Eye.

Here is Amber's cute card:
In the very center of the flower, you see the stamped image,
the punched out flower and button!!! Is it not the
cutest, Itty Bittiest
layering you have ever seen! The layered flowers behind are cut from Amber's Cricut.

I am now up to 6 hole followers here - officially anyway! I know I have lots of stragglers that still happen by. So thanks guys!!!! I am glad to have you!

And lastly but never least, I leave you with the pictures Peyton had me take of her today. As I was sitting down to post on my blog, she saw the camera and said "Take my picture Mom!" She is so going through a little diva stage right now. It's pretty cute! She makes Thong and I take pictures of her all the time with phones or cameras!

So here is her little mini photo shoot! The first pic is my fav for sure!

Look at that laugh! She's so cute, I can't help but be in love with her : D

I imagine this will be the smile to see in school pictures in many years to come.

Look at all those toys in the background!!!

I am off to watch the first episode of season 3 of True Blood! Team Eric! Down with Bill! Good Night ladies!

Hi TJ. This Post Is For You - Enjoy The Journey Together card

So as some of you know, I have my blog set up to post to Facebook anytime I post. Plus I also have a photo album on it specifically for my crafty projects. I was told today, by a friend that I work with if I keep posting crafty projects, then another friend of ours was going to block me from being his friend. So it is to TJ, that I dedicate this post to. I love ya TJ. But no worries. If you can't handle the crafting, so be it. : D

Back to the cards. It's that time again. Amber, Marci and I all got our Stampin' Up! orders, so here is what I made. I am so loving the Smooch Spritz from Stampin' Up! I got it in Vanilla this time, but I would love it in all of the colors. The one downside is that it is a smaller bottle. And mind you, I used it on almost all of the pieces to these cards. But making just the 3 of them, I went through half the bottle. Besides the Smooch Spritz from Stampin' Up! I also used Tattered Angels Coffee House spray. I am having a hard time being sparing with it. It sprays a lot and so on small pieces, it goes on really thick. I am learning to be better with it though.

Once Marci and Amber get their projects finished, I'll post those as well.

Here is the inside of my card. If you look closely, you can see the Vanilla Smooch Spritzer everywhere.

The Supplies Used:
  • Cardstock - Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla Stampin' Up!
  • Patterned Paper - Fly A Kite October Afternoon
  • Stamp Sets - Punched Posies, Pedaling Past and Simple Serif Mini Alphabet Stampin' Up!
  • Inks - Soft Suede and Baha Breeze Stampin' Up!, Coffee Shop Tattered Angels, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz Stampin' Up!
  • Punches - Decorative Tag EK Success, Scallop Oval Punch Stampin' Up for EK Success
  • Ribbon - Brown Gingham Making Memories
  • Other - small scissors {used to cut out the bicycle}, Pop Dots Glue Dots
Although the colors aren't a traditional color scheme for a wedding card, I couldn't resist paring this cute bicycle made for two and the October Afternoon paper. I think they compliment each other pretty well. When I had first planned out the card, I wanted to use Thickers to say "Together" on the outside of the card. But then I decided to go with the small card format instead. So I ended up using my Simple Serif Mini alphabet that I haven't used in forever instead. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but I just went with it. I have always had a hard time with getting the letters to line up straight, so I just stamped and pretended that I meant for it to be crooked : D.

I was hostess this month, so I was excited to get a few extras that I have been wanting for a while. So I got the Punched Posies as my hostess set, and then I also got the Scallop Oval punch that I have been wanting forever and an embossing plate. It's fun to be hostess :D Gotta love free stuff!!!

I just got finished watching some clips and then cast interview for True Blood on Ustream. I am looking forward to it coming back on. I haven't hidden the fact that I haven't liked a lot of the liberties taken in the show. But Aaron Ball said something that made sense to me. He said that the reason why characters in later books are being pulled in sooner is because with the series being 10 books now and counting, they can use material from later books sooner instead of making stuff up {not that there wasn't enough material before in the first few seasons}. I can't imagine the show running 10 seasons though and Sookie being only 27 8 seasons from now, like she is in the books. Only a few years have past by in the timeline of the books. And when you are watching actual actors instead of just picturing the characters in your head, 10 years is a lot. So I am thinking that - although I know they will change things a lot - the show is going to rely more on other books in the series instead of just making things up. On this upcoming season, I can't wait to see Alcide on the Small Screen this season! He's still one of my favorite characters in the series. I was sad they didn't have the actor that plays him in on the live stream. In the mean time, I just finished book 10 and loved it. Not as much as 9, but it was still really good. Can't wait for the next novella to come out and then see where the story goes from here. The one thing about the series that I love is that it isn't completely predictable. That's something to be said considering how many books in it is now. And I love the cast of characters!

After I finished the cards yesterday, I started on a scrapbook page. But it wasn't with photos. Instead it was lyrics to one of my favorite Ingrid Michaelson songs. I have been a big fan of music lyrics for quite some time. I don't care what the genre is, if the song has lyrics I can relate to, I usually end up loving it. I know I am a total dork, but I have notebooks of lyrics to some of my favorite songs. When I saw New Moon in the theatre for the second time, I took my notebook, so I could write down what songs where in the different scenes. I know! Total dork :D. So I decided to start scrapbooking my favorite songs and I hope to have quite a collection over time. Speaking of scrapbooking, I will get back to pictures of Peyton here shortly. I've been working on so many projects that I haven't scrapbooked for a little while.

Last thing before I go. I should get my tutorial up this week! Sorry again for taking so long with it!

Off to bed!
