10" x 10" Magnet Board Class 8/29

Hey Everyone!

So here is my next class. It's a 10" x 10" magnet board that hangs from ribbon of your choice. You can pick from cream, chocolate or black ribbon. Then you will be stamping right on the board and making matching magnets too! Originally I sent out the email stating that you would be making 3 magnets, but I decided that you needed one more :).

So here is what you get again:

  • Magnet board
  • Ribbon to hang it from
  • 3 Glass heart pebble magnets
  • 1 chipboard flower magnet

This board should actually be hanging from black ribbon, but I took the picture before I got the ribbon. Sorry the picture isn't too clear. I had a hard time getting the white ink getting to show up. I have one more sample to show, so when I get that one done I will post it. That should be tomorrow. Hope you guys like it!

Happy Stamping!

My Big News

So I eluded to some big news on one of my post earlier this month. I wanted to wait to say something over the World Wide Web until after my first appointment. Well, that occurred yesterday. My husband and I got to see the first ultrasound of our baby and were able to see the heart beat. We are really excited! Between me and my mom, we have already bought a lot of clothes, even though I won't be able to find out the sex for about 9 weeks or so. This is our first child - something unusual for our age in this neck of the woods :).

So Thong and I think the baby will be a boy. My sister-in-law agrees. But my parents, brother and seems a lot of friends think we are having a girl. I definitely want to find out as soon as possible. We will be making a trip to Fetal Photo as soon as I am far enough to find out the sex.

Yesterday at my first appointment, I learned that I am about 7 weeks and 3 days {as of yesterday}, determined by the size of the baby. According to the ultra sound it says 13mm. And the doctor gave a due date of 2/27/08. The funny thing is, my birthday is 3/2, so we may share a birthday. Also, Thong pointed out that next year is leap year. We may have a leap year baby!!!

I will try to keep updates here!
Hope you like the ultrasound pictures!

Gives me some time to get my shoe box swap project done, since I need to get it in this week!!! Plus I may still have a couple more cards to do, not sure yet.

Working on cards for convention!

So I am going to be focusing on swaps for Convention! I am so excited! I was hoping to have about 100 but so far, I only have about 25. I have a lot to do. Here are some of what i have so far. Hopefully I can keep getting them updated as I get more made. And I hope to do some 3-D projects too. As you can tell, not all of the stuff is Stampin Up that was used. So if you have any questions on any of them, let me know!

And I just love the new sets in the catalog! I feel like Stampin Up can finally compete with the current market. {the next step is acrylic stamps, but I am doubtfull that will ever happen}

Happy Stamping Everyone!

And these are made by my friend Amber for Convention. She is helping me out. Just look how cute they are!!!

Toilet Paper Desk Shelf!!!

For those of you that know me, you know I am a dork! Sometimes I am a bit flighty, to say the least. So one day I was at one of my favorite furniture stores, Rod Works, and saw this cute cream distressed metal shelf! I just had to have it for my craft room!

{the picture has a lot of stuff in it, but it is the cream metal shelf on the left side. Look how cute my lamp is that I got from Ikea is right next to it on the right side!}

About a month after I got it, I finally realized that it was suposed to be a toilet paper shelf! Oh, well!

So on the bar that is supposed to be for the current roll being used, I put the cute doodle bug paper ribbon rolls on it to pretend that I got it for that on purpose!

As you can see, I have been able to fill it up with a lot more stuff than toilet paper, so I am not sad about my oversite. And I still love the antique feel that it has!

That's my story about why I have a toilet paper shelf sitting on top of my scrapbook desk!

Happy Stamping Everyone!

Khouang blocks

My last name is KHOUANGRASVONGSAY! Yes, it really is that long, and yes it is my married name! I know, I know :). I had to be sure it was real love before I would commit to a name like that! Love you hun!

So as you can imagine, to spell out anything for a project with my whole last name, would just be a nightmare. And for the most part we go by Khouang anyway. I am sure you can imagine why!!!

I actually have had these made for a while, before we moved here even, but forgot to ever get them posted.

So here is the skinny!

The blocks were just plain blocks that I got from a local store called The Wood Connection {same place where I have gotten some of my wood letters from}. The letters are also from there. The paper, the metal hardware, some of the ribbon and chip board are from Stampin' Up. This was the Welcome Home Simply Scrappin Kit that got retired from the last catalog. I was sad to see it go! The rest of the ribbon, I got from a local scrapbook store in Draper, All My Memories.

After I painted the blocks and letters, I modge podged the paper to the blocks then added the accessories. Before I attached the letters, I distressed them and the blocks with Chocolate Chip ink and a sponge. I used a glue gun to add the letters on top of the paper. Simple easy and this can be adapted to anything! Seasonal words, names of kids! I am sure you can imagine all the possibilities!

Hope you like!
Happy Stamping Everyone!

It's been way to long since I have posted!!!

I have had all these excuses why I just haven't posted anything. It has been a busy summer like I am sure it has been for most of you too, but I decided I just needed to get some stuff updated!!! We had our monthly Stampin' Up meeting today, so it has motivated me to get some stufff on here!

So I have already posted these frames as you know, but I have added ribbon to the back so I can hang them all together. I have been planning on adding wedding pictures, but I may just have to wait a little longer and add some other pictures instead {more on this in just a bit}!!

I can't get enough of this Tres Jolie paper! I may be having to use it in some upcoming projects!

Happy Stampin' Everyone!!!

Cherish, Honor, Adore

These are frames to go in my craft room. These are $4 frames from Roberts. I love this Tres Jolie paper from My Minds Eye. It goes great in my craft room. I can't get enough of pink and green. I made the words out of Quick Cutz Silouettes dyes. The flowers and flourishes are also Quick Cutz. I also used Frosted Lace Stickles and Pink Gems from Heidi Swapp. I painted the frames cream and used Tea Dye Distressed ink from Ranger on the edges of the frames.

I am going to purchase a staple gun soon and staple brown ribbon to the back of the frames so that the 3 hang as shown above but with about an inch or so in between each of them. And I am going to hang them from a knob from one of my favorite stores, Rod Works. When I get that all done, I will post it so you can all see what I am talking about.

Happy Together Frame

So I have decided that I am taking a small break this month from my normal Stampin' Up! workshops. I have just been running around so crazy lately, and I am so tired, that I am not going to have a workshop this month.

The good news for me is that I can have some time to make stuff for me. I have been concentrating a lot lately on stuff for my craft room so I figured today I would make something for my living room/kitchen area. It's pretty much one big room.

I went to All My Memories tonight and found this beautiful paper from Daisy Dee. It was a paper pack and came with the reversable matching cardstock flowers. The thing that is great about these, is that they are stackable. And I still have paper left over if I wanted to make another frame or if I want to use it for some scrapbook pages!

Here is a list of supplies:
  1. $5 frame from Robert's Art's and Craft
  2. Black acrylic paint
  3. Patterned paper and cardstock flowers ~ Daisy Dee
  4. Giant Paper Clip ~ Bazzill Basics
  5. Giant Black & White Polka Dot Paper Clip ~ Bazzill Basics
  6. White Gem Brad ~ Making Memories
  7. Newspaper Flower ~ Junkitz

  15. Polka Dot Ribbon ~ Offray
  16. Black Stazon Ink
  17. Happy Everything Stamp Set ~ Stampin' Up!
  18. Mod Podge
  19. Glue Dots

I will be putting in a picture of Thong and I in this and it will be on a shelf by pictures of us with our families from our wedding. And I am picking up wood letters this week that spell out FAMILY by all of this. I think I may use the Scarlett's Letter paper from Basic Grey for the the letters. I think it should match well with this frame.

Hope you all like this! Let me know what you think!

LK

I can't get enough of this new line of paper from My Minds Eye, Tres Jolie. I used it on another project that I will post soon. It goes great in my craft room! I have a couple more monogram letters to go still after this for my craft room.
I got the small green shelf from Taipan Trading Co. And you can probably recognize the Mother's Day present that I posted earlier this week. I finally found a home for my poster of Aubrey Hepburn too. I have a couple of other small things that will fit on this shelf once I give my mom her present. I just couldn't resist when I saw this shelf at the store. They also have a cream one. It was only $10. I am finally getting my craft room put together a little more. I still haven't taken the updated pictures like I promised but hopefully I can get to that soon.

Happy Stamping Everyone!

Hi, it's me again. So much for having some time again to keep my blog updated. I have had a little time but then my internet would go down. So this is what I was up to this week. I am still alive!

Wow, it has been so long since I have posted. Sorry about the long delay guys! It has been a busy and trying couple of weeks. But I am back and had a good crafting weekend!

I went to a community yard sale here in the valley and was able to visit the Paper Creations Magazine booth where they were selling older idea books, magazines and scrapbook kits for really cheap. They had books from Creating Keepsakes and also Simple Scrapbooks. And the kits that I got were 2 of the ones that Lisa Bearnson sold on QVC over the last couple years.

So here is what I have been up to. Lets start with part of my moms Mother's Day present. Ssshh! It's a secret. Well, kinda. She told me she wanted something that said FAMILY.

So I did this similar as the other picture frames. I pained the frame cream, stamped on it with Stazon ink and the Autumn Leaves stamps. The paper in the background is Me and My Big Ideas. I covered the chipboard letters with brown cardstock and adheared on top of the patterned paper. I added Stickles, even though it is hard to tell, on the stamps on teh frame, and on the little tag showing here.

So now I will have t make me one for my living room in different colors to match.

It's late and I will have to post my other projects tomorrow. I have 8 more things to post so stay tuned this week!!!

It Doesn't Get Much Easier Than This

I seem to be on a simplictic run lately. Not sure how this came to me, but I am really liking the results. I really hope the Doodle This and Doodle That sets are in the upcoming catalogs. I think they are my favorite sets right now. I also have been using the Warm Words set a lot lately. This set contains words that can get a sentiment across without being specific. These cards could be used for a birthday, bridal shower, or even just because.

The result is an extemely fast 4x4 card.
So the supplies for these are few but here you go:
  1. Doodle This
  2. Warm Words
  3. Very Vanilla card stock
  4. Timber Brown Stazon
  5. Cranberry Crisp classic
  6. Pale Plum classic
  7. Tempting Turquoise classic
  8. Barely Banana classic
  9. Certainly Celery classic
  10. Crystal Stickles by Ranger
  11. Brown and cream ribbon
  12. Aqua Painter
Hope you guys like these.
